What is the small and thin wallet Saku?

Advantages of thin wallets, small wallets, and large capacity wallets

When it comes to compact wallets, ``small and thin'' are becoming commonplace. What is difficult to achieve at the same time is ease of use, sufficient capacity, and design. In particular, ``ease of use'' and ``capacity'' are in a trade-off (or contradictory) relationship with ``compactness,'' and it is common for one to be prioritized at the expense of the other.

Like that Defying contradiction, having both This is "Saku", a bi-fold wallet that can be said to be synonymous with moku.

By using Saku, people who use compact wallets can enjoy the uncompromising portability, the ease of use, ease of storage, and style that they want as much as possible. You can get almost everything you want in a wallet. .

Are there any of you who can't find the best one and are replacing your wallet every so often?
We will end your journey to find your wallet!

Saku's track record and development history of ver.3

The previous work, Saku ver.2, received an astonishingly high rating of 4.9 out of 5 out of over 200 reviews on the official website.
*Results as of the end of October 2023

vice versa What kind of factor is the "0.1" that did not give a perfect score of 5 points? ,Do not you care about this? A summary of negative feedback (issues) regarding Saku ver.2 is as follows.

・It would be nice if the bill holder was a little bigger. ・It's scary that the cards are going to fly out from the sides. ・If the number of cards stored is small, the cards will not be held and will fall easily (an issue due to the large amount of storage)

Improve these issues and This work is finally complete. .

Improvement 1

Increase the bill holder

The bill holder is difficult to put in and take out bills even if it's too big, so Saku ver.2 was a little smaller. However, the problem with small 1,000 yen bills was that they would not hold unless they were inserted firmly. Many people requested improvements, so we improved the size to the perfect balance between ease of putting in and taking out and holding power.

Improvement point 2

The card ejection opening is aligned with your dominant hand, and the sides are enlarged for a better hold.

The card slot has also been adjusted to balance the ease of inserting and removing cards and the feel of the card.

Previously, if you were right-handed, the structure assumed that you would take out the cards on the left side, but in this game, the structure is made to take out the cards on the right side, making it easier to put in and take out cards with your dominant hand.

If the card is inserted and taken out from the right side, you might think that it will interfere with the coin purse, but as shown in the video above, you can pull the card upwards and then unfold it, so there is no need to worry about that.

Also, because ver.2 prioritized ease of removal, the sides of the card storage compartment were short, and depending on how you used it, cards could fall out. In this product, the sides are longer, so you can firmly hold the card, Successfully reduced the risk of falling Did.

Improvement point 3

Options available for those with a small number of cards

Saku can store 8 cards, but if you store too few cards, the cards will not be held and will move around. If it's closed, it won't fall out of your wallet, but the problem is that it may fall out when you open it.

Therefore, for those with a small number of cards, we have prepared an option that can store keys. This card-shaped key case can be used when the number of cards stored is 4 or less, and can store up to 2 keys.

*This function is an option (sold separately).
*The number of cards that can be stored varies depending on the thickness of the key being stored.
*If you order along with a wallet, you can get a discounted price. If ordered at the same time as a wallet, the color will be the same as the wallet itself.
*If purchased at the same time as the wallet, it will be bundled with the wallet according to the delivery date of the wallet.
*This option can also be used with Saku ver.1/ver.2. Customers using Saku ver.1/ver.2 can also order only this option.
*If you are ordering this item at the same time as the wallet, but would like to select an optional color, please use the optional purchase option (however, the set discount will not apply).

Five features of Saku ver.3

Functionality ①
small and thin

The size is 93mm wide x 93mm tall.
Even if you put 8 cards, 10 bills, and 15 coins in it, it's only 15mm thick.
Even at maximum capacity, the thickness is less than 20mm. It is as thin as a typical smartphone, so it can be easily stored in a pocket or small bag.
*Thinness may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the card to be stored and the type of coin.

Functionality ②
Large capacity

Maximum capacity is 8 cards, 20 coins, and 25 banknotes .
You can use it as your main wallet even when you go out.

In pursuit of compactness, the capacity is estimated to be 5 to 6 cards and 15 coins (according to our own research), so you can see that Saku has a large capacity.

At first glance, this difference may seem "minor", but once you get used to using a mini wallet or compact wallet, you will realize how convenient it would be if you could hold two or three more cards and coins .

*In-house research

Easy to put in and take out coins

When you press both sides of the coin purse with your hands, it will pop open.

Many compact wallets sacrifice storage capacity, and because they are compact, the opening and closing part of the storage compartment tends to be small. Therefore, there are many cases where you have to put up with the inconvenience of taking things in and out.

You don't have to hold back anymore .

Saku is designed with a coin purse at the top of the wallet, and at the same time has a structure that opens by slightly pinching both ends (design rights* (design patent) have been obtained). You can easily put in and take out coins without being obstructed by anything.
* Design Registration No. 1731798

There's something I'm sure of.
That is, a coin purse with a shallow structure is definitely easier to access .

What you often see is a deep coin purse that is about the size of a card, but with this structure, it may hold a lot, but the coins accumulate at the bottom, so you have to push your finger all the way in, and the coins don't come out. It becomes difficult.

As with all moku wallets, the coin purse is The structure is so shallow that it can barely fit a 500 yen coin. .

Manufacturers and others who have learned that this structure is the correct answer are gradually starting to create shallower structures. This is an important point that you should definitely check when choosing a wallet.

Functionality ④
Direct access to coins

Imagine a scene where you use coins.
・When paying at the cash register, don't you first check how much coins you have to give so you don't end up with too much change?
・Wouldn't it be easier if you could just take coins in and out of a vending machine?

Saku is Structure allows you to take out coins directly without taking out the wallet and opening it , so you can have peace of mind even when you're in a rush to pay your bills.

Compatible with left-handed specifications

The construction is reversed from the regular version (right-handed), and the structure is designed to be used to pick up bills and cards with the left hand.
Did you know that most wallets in the world are made for right-handed people? I will never forget the impressed voice of a left-handed person who used the left-handed version for the first time .

Since it is assumed that you will insert and remove bills and cards with your left hand, you can insert and remove them from the left side.

Highly textured and earth-friendly materials

Material 1: Noblessa calf

Used for exterior.

This is the highest quality leather provided by Perlinger, a well-known long-established tanner that has been producing leather since 1864. Perringer combines over 150 years of leather tanning technology and experience with modern manufacturing methods to consistently provide the highest quality leather.
Not only is it of high quality, but it is also an environmentally friendly tanner, which has earned it high praise and been used by top brands around the world.

A characteristic of leather is that it has a uniform pattern created by embossing. The surface is covered with pigments, so even if water gets on it, it won't soak in easily, and the leather is relatively resistant to stains and scratches.

The degree of aging is smaller than that of Pueblo or Buttero, so this leather is recommended for those who want to keep the same texture for a long time.

The left side is unused and the right side is used for about 6 months.
Over time, the unevenness will become a little smoother, but there are almost no scratches.

Material 2: Buttero

Interior It is used in

It is made by Conceria Walpier using the shoulder part of an adult cow called steer and is tanned. Since it has a hard shoulder part, it is characterized by its firmness and elasticity. Although there are individual differences, there may be some striped patterns that tend to appear on the shoulders.

Because it is dyed using an excellent dyeing technique, it has a beautiful, transparent color, but it also has a firm and heavy feel. Although it is not as dramatic as Pueblo, it is a leather that can be enjoyed over time.

Materials that contribute to a sustainable society, where choosing is good for the earth

Many genuine leathers (leather made from animal skins) are made from animal skins that would otherwise be discarded during livestock farming, and are said to be more environmentally friendly than just discarding them.

The reality is that when trying to improve the texture and durability of leather materials, chemicals and additives are often used. When manufacturing and processing leather using chemicals, the process can produce by-products that are not good for the environment.

On the other hand, there are also leathers that are processed using plant-derived ingredients. For example, leather processed using only tannin, a type of polyphenol, is called full vegetable tanned leather, and moku mainly deals with such leather.

Actual usage scene

"Put it in your pocket and go out empty-handed."

"Put it in a small bag and go out light."

"Easily pay your bills when you're in a hurry."

“IC cards are also accepted, so getting through the ticket gates is easy.”
