Comparable in length to an iPhone Plus, the Uno series was not developed by simply trying to shrink the conventional 20 cm wallet.

Instead, we began with a different question:
If the longest Japanese banknote measures 16 cm, what is the absolute minimum length a long wallet can physically be?

　

The answer is 16.3 cm—just 0.3 cm longer than a 10,000-yen note.

Born from this unconventional approach, the Uno series achieves an extreme, near-limit size while preserving exceptional ease of use.

As long as the size of Japanese banknotes remains the same, we believe this represents the true physical limit—dimensions that challenge the very concept of what a long wallet should be.

That Achieves an Astonishingly Compact Size

In simple terms, we “eliminated stitching.”

To achieve this extreme minimal length, we could not apply stitching along the section that forms the bill compartment. Stitching inevitably requires additional material allowance for seams—no matter how small.

Even a few millimeters of seam allowance would increase the overall length. By rethinking conventional construction and removing this constraint, we were able to realize a truly near-limit size.

The Uno series does not use stitching in the bill compartment.
Instead of sewing, the leather is precisely folded and secured with a snap closure—allowing us to achieve a clean, streamlined design without adding bulk.

This unconventional construction makes a remarkable difference.
Compared to standard long wallets, it is approximately 3–4 cm (about 1.2–1.6 inches) shorter in length. Even when placed beside so-called “minimal” long wallets on the market, it is over 1 cm (about 0.4 inches) smaller.

By rethinking traditional wallet construction, the Uno series achieves a level of compactness that truly stands apart.

2. Exceptionally Compact — Yet Slim and Spacious

At this point, it may seem that this is simply a wallet designed with size reduction in mind. However, we understand that being small alone is not enough to end your search for the perfect wallet.
The Uno ver.2 is not only exceptionally compact—it is also slim and highly functional in capacity.
Even at full capacity—holding up to 13 cards, 30 coins, and 30 bills—the central thickness measures just 18 mm (approximately 0.7 inches).

Compact in size, yet designed to carry more than you would expect.

 

 

Even at its thickest point—the coin compartment—the wallet measures only approximately 25 mm (about 1.0 inch).

How is it possible to achieve what seems like a contradiction:
“compact and slim” × “large capacity”?

The answer lies in the structure.

The primary factors that add bulk to a wallet are the overlapping of cards and the internal dividers between them.

First, in this design, the cards are arranged vertically. The structure ensures that no more than three cards overlap at any given point.

In many conventional wallets, cards are stacked horizontally, often overlapping five to six cards in thickness. This layered construction significantly increases overall bulk.

Second, consider the dividers used to separate each card.
In this product, there are no traditional dividers at all.

Instead, cards are inserted into precisely angled slits, allowing each card to be stored independently without the need for layered partitions. In typical wallets, dividers are placed between every card slot—adding unnecessary thickness with each layer.

By eliminating both excessive overlap and internal partitions, the Uno series achieves remarkable slimness without compromising capacity.

 

3. Exceptionally Easy to Use

While we have emphasized size and capacity, the most important element of any wallet is usability.
The Uno series is designed with independently structured card slots, allowing you to instantly locate the card you need—and remove it just as quickly.

Efficiency is built into the structure itself, ensuring smooth, intuitive access every time you reach for it.

 

The intentionally shallow coin pocket offers excellent visibility, allowing you to instantly locate the coin you need and remove it easily—without having to dig your fingers deep inside.

 

The three-dimensional structure of the bill storage section allows for smooth insertion and removal of bills.

By placing your IC card in its dedicated slot, interference with other cards is minimized—allowing you to pass through ticket gates seamlessly without removing it from the wallet.

The multi-purpose storage pocket can accommodate small essentials such as keys or an AirTag. It is also ideal for carrying everyday items like medication or a personal charm.

 

Renewed Zipper Design

This model features a newly updated zipper with an original zipper engraved with the MOKU logo.
Beyond functionality, this special specification reflects our dedication to beauty and brand identity, down to the finest details.

Proven Usability, Refined in the Uno Series

This product was developed as an upgraded model of the original Small & Slim Long Wallet Uno, which debuted in January 2023.

At its launch, the original Uno received support from 430 backers through crowdfunding. On our official online store, it continues to maintain a strong average rating of 4.7 out of 5, reflecting the high level of customer satisfaction.

 

 

Record-Breaking Results in Crowdfunding Pre-Launch

From July 15 to September 29, 2024, this model was offered in an exclusive pre-launch campaign on Makuake, a leading Japanese crowdfunding platform.

During the 75-day campaign period, we received pre-orders from 852 supporters, totaling ¥22,569,600 (approximately $150,000 USD) in sales.

The overwhelming response reaffirmed the strong demand for a wallet that balances compact design with uncompromising usability.

 

 

Three Key Improvements from the Previous Model

1. Increased Capacity — Virtually the Same Overall Size

The storage capacity has been significantly enhanced while maintaining smooth and effortless access.

Previous Model:
– 7 cards
– 20 coins
– 20 bills

Current Model:
– 13 cards
– 25 coins
– 25 bills

Despite this substantial increase in capacity, the overall size remains almost unchanged.
The shorter side has increased by just 1 mm (approximately 0.04 inches)—a difference barely noticeable in everyday use.

The key to this enhanced capacity lies in a refined internal structure.

 

Among the feedback we received on the previous model, the most common request was for greater coin storage. This improvement became our primary focus.We successfully expanded the coin compartment both vertically and horizontally, significantly increasing its usable space.

The zipper has been extended by 1.5 cm (approximately 0.6 inches), resulting in a noticeably wider opening. While the numerical difference may seem small, the impact in daily use is substantial—the improved accessibility is immediately apparent.nificant that it's surprisingly easy to use.

When comparing both models with 25 coins inserted, the difference is visually clear. The previous model appears tightly filled, whereas the current version maintains a clean, composed silhouette with minimal bulging.

 

 

2. Stitch Lines Concealed for a More Refined Design

In this model, an additional layer of leather has been carefully incorporated to conceal the stitched edges.

While this adds the thickness of a single leather layer, it allows the seam lines to be fully hidden—resulting in a cleaner, more sophisticated appearance.

The structure feels more cohesive and thoughtfully finished, enhancing the overall refinement of the design.

 

3. Added Storage for Everyday Essentials

A newly added pocket provides convenient space for receipts, small documents, or point cards—keeping frequently used items neatly organized.

The compartment is also designed to accommodate banknotes up to the size of a 1,000-yen note (76 mm × 150 mm / 2.99 in × 5.91 in).

Material: Pueblo Leather

Pueblo leather is produced by Badalassi Carlo, a renowned Italian tannery, using hides from female cattle aged over two years. The leather is crafted using the traditional Vacchetta (vegetable tanning) method and finished with a deliberately roughened, fibrous surface—resulting in a highly distinctive appearance.

At first, the leather has a texture reminiscent of washi paper, with a matte finish and very little sheen. With continued use, however, the surface fibers gradually settle, and the leather develops a rich luster at an accelerating pace. The color deepens noticeably in a relatively short time.

 

 

 

One of Pueblo leather’s greatest appeals is the speed and drama of this transformation. As it ages, it acquires a smooth, supple texture that feels almost as if it clings to the hand, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of leather aging over time.

 

 

A Material Choice That Supports a More Sustainable World

Much of genuine leather is made from animal hides that would otherwise be discarded as byproducts of the food industry. By utilizing these hides, leather production is often considered more environmentally responsible than disposing of them unused.

In pursuit of texture and durability, many leather production processes rely heavily on chemical agents and additives, which can generate environmentally harmful byproducts during manufacturing.

By contrast, there are leathers processed using plant-derived ingredients. One such method is full vegetable tanning, which uses tannins—naturally occurring polyphenols found in plants.
At MOKU, we primarily work with leathers tanned using this traditional, vegetable-based approach.
