The Kurozankaku version has arrived for the UNO ver.2 Plus series, our highly acclaimed small and thin wallet. As detailed in the middle of this page, this premium model is luxuriously crafted using rare "Kurozankaku" (black diamond leather) for both the exterior and lining. In addition to its rugged look reminiscent of samurai armor, the "muso" (double-layered) construction significantly enhances the durability of the exterior.

Glitter thread is used for the stitching. At first glance, the stitching is subtle, but when viewed from different angles, it catches the light to reveal a beautiful shimmer. This touch of understated flair enhances its stylish appeal.

While it has a profound, substantial look, it remains a lightweight piece, maintaining its beautiful design and functionality.

Available in four colors: Black, Indigo, Crimson, and Japanese Iris. The more you use it, the deeper, richer, and more noble the leather becomes.

1. Truly minimal size

"The physical limit is 16.3cm"

Rather than starting with the traditional approach of trying to shrink a 20cm wallet as much as possible, this design was born from asking, "What is the physical limit in millimeters relative to the 16cm length of the largest banknote, the 10,000 yen bill?"

The Uno series, born from this paradigm-shifting philosophy, achieves an extreme size just 0.3cm larger than the 16cm length of a 10,000 yen bill, all while maintaining exceptional usability.

 

As long as the size of Japanese banknotes remains the same, we are confident this is the absolute limit of smallness, and it is a size that even changes the very concept of a long wallet.

Design patent achieving an astonishingly small size

The small and thin Uno long wallet series has been recognized by the Japan Patent Office for this groundbreaking structure and has been granted a design patent.

In a word: "Do away with stitching."
To achieve this minimal length, it is impossible to use stitching in the area that forms the banknote compartment. Naturally, if you use stitching, you need "extra space" for the thread, which adds to the size.

The Uno series does not use stitching in the banknote compartment. Instead of stitching, it is folded and secured with a snap fastener, achieving a smart design without the need for seams.

This design, which overturns common sense, allows for a difference of 3-4cm compared to standard wallets, and even more than 1cm compared to other wallets touted as the smallest in the world.

2. Extremely small yet thin and high-capacity

Looking this far, you might think this is just a long wallet focused solely on being small. However, we are well aware that being small alone won't end your search for the perfect wallet.

First of all, the Uno ver.2 is not only extremely small, but also thin and high-capacity.
With a maximum capacity of 13 cards, 30 coins, and 30 banknotes, the thickness at the center of the wallet is a mere 18mm.

Even at the coin pocket, which is the thickest part, it is only about 25mm.

How can we reconcile the contradiction of "small and thin" with "high capacity"? The secret lies in the structure. The factors that make a wallet thick are mainly the overlapping of cards and the partitions used to separate them.

First, this product is designed so that cards are arranged vertically, with only three cards overlapping at most. In common wallets, cards are usually arranged horizontally in a structure where 5-6 cards overlap.

Next, regarding the partitions that distinguish the cards, there are actually no partitions at all in this product. By inserting cards into diagonal slits, each card can be stored independently. In common wallets, there are dividers between cards, which add to the thickness.

3. Overwhelmingly easy to use

We have emphasized the size and capacity, but ultimately, the most important thing is ease of use.

Since the Uno series features independent card slots, you can find the card you need in an instant and take it out quickly in the next.

The intentionally shallow coin pocket offers great visibility, allowing you to find the target coin in an instant and remove it easily without having to stick your fingers deep inside.

The banknote compartment, made with a three-dimensional structure, allows for smooth insertion and removal of bills.

By placing IC cards in an independent card pocket, they are less likely to interfere with other cards, and you can pass through ticket gates just as you are.

The multi-storage pocket can hold keys or an AirTag. It is also perfect for storing everyday medicine or charms.

The Plus model is the ultimate version of the UNO series

UNO ver.2 comes in a standard specification and a premium specification (indicated by "Plus" in the product name). This product is the premium specification.

This product was born as an upgraded model of the "Small and Thin Long Wallet Uno" that debuted in January 2023. The previous model, the Small and Thin Long Wallet Uno, gained empathy (purchases) from 430 people during its debut crowdfunding campaign and boasts an average review score of 4.7/5 on our official online shop.

3 Evolutionary steps from the previous model

1. Increased capacity with almost no change in size

The storage capacity, which allows for smooth and comfortable access, has significantly changed.

Previous model: 7 cards, 20 coins, 20 banknotes
This model: 13 cards, 25 coins, 25 banknotes

Moreover, the overall size is almost identical, with only the short side increasing by 1mm.

The secret to this increased capacity lies in the change in structure.

The most frequent feedback for improvement on the previous model was the capacity of the coin pocket. We put the most effort into this improvement. We succeeded in expanding the coin pocket both vertically and horizontally.

The zipper length is 1.5cm longer, but that also means the opening is larger. This difference is significant, and it has become surprisingly easier to use in practice.

When comparing the coin pocket holding 25 coins, there is a visible difference. The previous model looked stuffed, whereas this model maintains a beautiful form with almost no bulging.

2. Concealed stitching for a more sophisticated design

In this version, by adding a piece of leather to hide the stitching, the thickness increases by one layer of leather, but in return, the stitching is completely hidden, resulting in a more sophisticated design.

Material: Kurozankaku

Kurozankaku is a rare, premium leather known as "Black Diamond Leather."
It emits a shine as if diamond particles were scattered across it. It is friction-resistant and durable, with a history of being used in samurai armor during the Warring States period.

In the production process, craftsmen spend four months applying lacquer, carefully finishing each piece one by one.
By slowly and repeatedly applying lacquer to the grain side over time, the leather becomes elastic and dense.

The only tannery capable of producing such historically valuable Kurozankaku is "Sakamoto Shoten." The Kurozankaku produced by Sakamoto Shoten can be called the pinnacle of Japanese aesthetics and meticulous technology, something one can proudly call "THE Japanese leather."

Kurozankaku is created from Japanese Wagyu beef and the outstanding skills of craftsmen.
