Product Features

The best of both a thin and small wallet

The definitive minimalist wallet that incorporates the best of both thin and small wallets.

This bi-fold wallet is synonymous with moku, and is made without any compromises; it is small and thin, which is now the norm for mini and compact wallets, but it also combines ease of coin handling, sufficient capacity, and stylish design, which are said to be difficult to achieve together.

We believe that by using the small and thin Saku wallet, you can get almost everything you want from a wallet, including the "ease of carrying" that is an absolute must for a thin or small wallet, the "storage capacity" that is as desirable as possible , and the "ease of use" of the coin purse.

The story behind the birth of this product

This "Small and Thin Wallet Saku ver.2" is an improved version of the previous "Small and Thin Wallet Saku," which was supported by 1,307 people through crowdfunding.

We are very grateful to have received a lot of positive feedback from users of our previous small and thin wallet, Saku.

Small and thin wallet Saku (ver.1) project results

Partial review of the small and thin wallet Saku (ver.1)

But there have been several improvements.

To summarize the improvements we received, the following are the improvements made to our previous small and thin wallet, Saku.

・There is no holder for bills, so bills are not stable.
- I want to make it easier to insert and remove cards.

This small and thin wallet, Saku ver.2, has been improved upon in the above areas.

Four features of the small and thin wallet Saku ver.2

Feature 1. Small, thin and large capacity

It is 15mm thick when loaded with 8 cards, 10 bills, and 15 coins.
Additionally, its size is 93mm wide and 93mm long, making it one of the smallest bi-fold wallets available.

The biggest feature of the small and thin Saku wallet is that it has ample capacity while still being a compact wallet that is comparable to the thinnest and smallest in its class.

"Just put it in your pocket and go out empty-handed."

"It fits easily into a small bag and is lightweight."

I think these specs are ideal for achieving that kind of lifestyle.

The small and thin Saku wallet can hold up to 8 cards, 20 coins, and 25 bills. Most other products in the same genre can only hold up to 5-6 cards and 15 coins, so you can see that the small and thin Saku wallet has a large capacity.

At first glance, this difference may seem small, but once you get used to using a mini or compact wallet, you'll realize how convenient it is to be able to fit two or three more cards and coins in it.

Feature 2: The coin purse is dramatically easier to put in and take out

For those of you who have used wallets that are marketed as easy to carry, such as thin wallets, small wallets, mini wallets, or compact wallets, have you ever found it difficult to take cards or coins in and out?

Many small, mini and compact wallets sacrifice storage capacity and, because they are compact, tend to have small openings for the storage compartment. For this reason, many people use them while putting up with the inconvenience of taking things in and out.

You don't have to hold back any longer.

The small and thin Saku wallet has a coin purse designed at the top of the wallet, and the opening can be opened by pinching both ends slightly. You can easily take coins in and out without being hindered by anything else.

Feature 3. High-quality and eco-friendly materials

1. Materials with a high-quality texture that makes you want to touch them. 2. Materials that contribute to a sustainable society and benefit the earth through their selection.

We carefully select such ingredients.

1. Materials with a high-quality texture that makes you want to touch them

Material 1: Pueblo

It is used on exteriors with colors beginning with Pueblo-.

This leather is made by Badalassi Carlo using the hides of cows over two years old, using the Vacchetta method. The surface is intentionally roughened and napped as a finishing process, making it a very unique leather.

In its initial state, it feels like Japanese paper and has a matte texture that means it has almost no shine, but the more you use it, the more the surface fibers will lie flat, the gloss will increase exponentially, and the color will deepen in a short period of time.

The gloss develops very quickly, so the changes are dramatic, and the moist, clingy texture it takes on with use is another big attraction. This is a recommended leather for those who like the aging of leather.

Material 2: Noblesse calf

It is used on the exterior of colors that start with noblessacalf-.

This is the finest leather provided by Perlinger, a famous, long-established tannery that has been producing leather since 1864. Perlinger supplies consistently top-quality leather by combining the leather tanning techniques and experience it has cultivated over 150 years with modern manufacturing methods.
Not only is the tannery of high quality, but it is also environmentally conscious, which has earned it high praise from top brands around the world.

The leather's characteristics are that it has a uniform pattern created by embossing. The surface is covered with pigment, so water does not easily penetrate, and it is relatively resistant to dirt and abrasion.

The aging process is less pronounced than with Pueblo or Buttero, making this leather a recommended choice for those who want to maintain the same texture for a long time.

The one on the left is unused, and the one on the right has been used for about 6 months.
The bumps will smooth out somewhat over time, but there are few scratches.

Material 3: Buttero

All colors have interior (card and coin compartment), Buttero-

It is used on the exterior of colors starting with .

Made by Conceria Walpier using tannin-tanned leather from the shoulder of a steer. The leather is made from the hard shoulder of a cow, giving it a firm and resilient texture. Although there are individual differences, the stripes that tend to appear on the shoulder may appear slightly.

It is dyed using superior dyeing techniques, so it has a beautiful, transparent color while still having a firm, heavy feel. Although it is not as dramatic as Pueblo, it is a leather that you can enjoy aging over time.

2. Choosing materials that benefit the earth and contribute to a sustainable society

Most genuine leather (leather made from animal skin) is made from animal skin that would otherwise be discarded due to livestock farming, and is said to be more environmentally friendly than if it were simply discarded.

In reality, when trying to improve the texture and durability of leather materials, chemicals and additives are often used. The manufacturing and processing of leather using chemicals can produce by-products that are harmful to the environment.

On the other hand, there is also leather that is processed using ingredients derived from plants. For example, leather that is processed using only tannins, a type of polyphenol, is called full vegetable tanning, and moku mainly deals with such leather.

4. A design that can be used for a long time and with enjoyment

A sophisticated design that will lift your spirits
The more you use it, the more you'll love it, and the simple design will make you want to keep it forever.

This type of design is the correct answer for moku.

This idea is also the common brand concept for all moku products.

I think simplicity is far from easy. For example, it is precisely because it is simple that even a 1mm change in the size of the metal fittings can greatly change the overall balance.
The process of failing over and over again is never easy, but we don't compromise.

Six Features of the Small and Thin Wallet Saku ver.2

1. The bill holder holds bills securely

By holding bills securely, they and receipts do not move around when you open the wallet, and do not interfere with the insertion and removal of cards.

The opening and closing parts are inevitably prone to stress and are prone to damage relatively quickly, but by using a double-layered bill holder, stability and durability have been increased.

2. The leather is thick yet the wallet is thin.

The outer leather is approximately 1.5mm thick, which is thicker than other thin, small, mini, and compact wallets .

A common failure of small, mini and compact wallets is that they focus too much on making the wallet thin and compact, leading to the material being thin as well, resulting in the wallet losing its durability and stability. The small and thin Saku wallet is made possible by its structural design, which allows for the contradiction of "thick leather but a thin wallet."

3. Direct access to coins

Imagine a scenario where you spend money.
-When paying at the cash register, don't you first check how many coins you need to take out to avoid ending up with extra change?
- Wouldn't it be easier if you could only put coins in and take them out of vending machines?

The small and thin Saku wallet is designed so that you can take out your coins directly without opening the wallet, so you can have peace of mind even in those times when you might feel rushed at the cash register.

4. Top quality YKK zippers

For small items that use zippers, the smoothness and durability of the zipper is very important. For the small and thin Saku wallet, we use EXCELLA, which is said to be the highest class of zippers from YKK. At first, it may feel stiff to open and close, but it will gradually become smoother.

5. Delivered in a high-quality presentation box

It comes in a special Saku case, a small and thin wallet that fits just right.
We also offer gift wrapping, so it's recommended as a gift.

*The design and color of the dedicated case may change without notice.

6. Left-handed compatible

Colors marked -left are designed for left-handed people.
The design is reversed from the regular version (right-handed), and is designed for picking up bills with the left hand.
